When is the facelift procedure advisable?

A facelift may be a good option if you can gently pull back your skin and notice a big improvement in how your face looks. This often means your skin has started to lose firmness and volume.

Facelift treatment

There are three main facelift techniques, depending on your needs and goals:

1️⃣ Traditional facelift
The incision starts at the temples (within the hairline), goes around the front of the ears, and ends behind the ears at the lower scalp.

2️⃣ Limited incision facelift
This is a smaller cut made just above the ear, within the hairline. It doesn’t go all the way down to the scalp. Ideal for mild to moderate aging.

3️⃣ Neck lift – if chosen, too
The cut begins in front of the earlobe, curves around the ear, and ends at the lower scalp. A small extra incision is also made under the chin to treat sagging or excess fat in the neck.

The surgery takes between two and three hours. However, it may take longer if other cosmetic procedures are done at the same time.

Recovery

After a facelift, you may notice some swelling and mild bruising in the first few days. This is normal and can usually be covered with makeup.
