What Does the Treatment Include?

Your treatment is completed in two main phases:

Phase 1: Surgical Stage

  • Consultation and 3D CT scan
  • Extractions and bone graft, if needed
  • Placement of dental implants
  • Temporary prosthesis (in selected cases)

Phase 2: Final Restoration

  • Healing period (usually around 3 months)
  • Placement of abutments
  • Final crowns or full arch prosthesis (zirconia or acrylic)

All procedures are digitally planned to ensure maximum precision and long-term success.

In-clinic 3D imaging allows for immediate diagnosis and treatment planning.

3D Surgical Guide & Digital Implantology

Placement takes about 30 minutes per implant with the aid of a 3D printed surgical guide.

A surgical guide is a special tool that allows the surgeon to follow the correct trajectory in the placement protocol. Thus, achieving a perfectly precise implant placement as planned by three-dimensional software during the consultation.

Once the implants are placed, you can leave to rest and relax. However, following our post-care instructions and taking the prescribed medication is imperative. Finally, our specialist implantologist will see you a few days later for a check-up and discharge.

❓FAQs about Dental Implants in Lima

FAQs

❓ How long does the dental implant process take in Lima, Peru?
The dental implant process typically involves two main stages. First, the implant is placed using advanced 3D-guided technology for maximum precision. After a healing period of around 3 to 4 months, the final crown is placed. Thanks to our CEREC CAD/CAM system, the crown can be designed and delivered in just one day once healing is complete.

❓ Are 3D-guided dental implants safe and reliable?
Yes, 3D-guided dental implants are considered one of the safest and most accurate methods available today. Using CBCT 3D scans and digital planning software allows for precise implant positioning, minimizes risks, and improves recovery time compared to traditional techniques.

❓ How much do dental implants cost in Lima, Peru?
The cost of dental implants in Lima depends on the number of implants, the type of crown, and whether additional procedures are needed. In general, patients find treatment in Peru significantly more affordable than in the US, Canada, or Europe, while maintaining high international standards and advanced technology.

❓ Can I get a dental implant and crown in the same day?
In most cases, implants require a healing period before placing the final crown to ensure proper integration with the bone. However, once healing is complete, we can fabricate and place your custom crown in a single visit using our CEREC 3D system.

❓ Am I a good candidate for dental implants?
Most adults with missing teeth and good general health are candidates for dental implants. A 3D scan is required to evaluate bone density and structure. If needed, procedures like bone grafting can be performed to prepare the area for successful implant placement.

❓ How long should I stay in Lima for dental implant treatment?
International patients usually need to stay around 5 to 7 days for the implant placement phase. After the healing period, a second shorter visit of about 3 to 5 days is required to complete the final crown.

❓ Will I have pain or swelling after the procedure?
Dental implant surgery is generally well tolerated. Most patients experience mild swelling or discomfort for a few days, which can be managed with prescribed medication. Thanks to guided surgery, recovery is typically faster and more comfortable.

❓ What technology do you use for dental implants?
We use advanced digital dentistry, including CBCT 3D scans, guided implant planning software, and CEREC CAD/CAM technology. This allows us to plan your treatment virtually and deliver highly precise, natural-looking results.

❓ Are dental implants in Peru high quality?
Yes. Our clinic uses internationally recognized implant systems and modern digital technology. Many patients choose dental implants in Lima, Peru because they receive premium-quality care at a more accessible price.

❓ Can you help with travel and accommodation in Lima?
Yes, we regularly assist international patients with recommendations for nearby hotels, transportation, and scheduling to make the process smooth and stress-free.

  1. Hello, I am interested in coming to Lima to have 2 dental implants done. I am wondering if you could give me more information such as the doctors name and credentials who would be best suited for doing this procedure. Also name and location of the facility (clinic) where work would be done, pricing, and anything else you feel I should know about the process.
    Thank you!

    • I’ve just read that you need a two-stage procedure for teeth implants, having the second stage after 3 months… Did I understand correctly ??
I am attaching an Ad which shows only one day for the two stages … is that a new technology….would it be more expensive than your two stage procedure????

    • Hello Luis. Yes, normally it is a two-stage procedure. However, in some circumstances, yes, dental implants can be completed in just one session – including the placement of the implant body, abutment and crowns/denture. However, the bone must be in optimal condition for this procedure. We will email you some additional information today.

  3. April 6, 2019 Good morning,
I am expecting my crown to fall out soon. It was re-cemented over a year ago but I had it put back again for the second time. It has only been two weeks and will probably fall out. I’ve been told that there is not enough tooth to adhere to the post and the tooth has some decay. No possibility of a bridge. I am interested in having the in implant done in Lima. Will I need to have a flipper made here in Melbourne, Florida ($500) to conceal the missing crown, tooth #6, and have the extraction before traveling to Lima? Or will you do the preparatory, extraction and surgery and flipper in Lima so that I don’t have any expenses where I live? The tooth is in the upper front and I will need the gap to be concealed. The other option is to have the extraction and flipper done here and then travel to Lima for the surgery later on.
    Thank you for the consideration,
    Pat Tenore

    • Hello Pat! You have some good questions 🙂
Actually, most of our treatments consist of extraction, implant placement and temporary tooth all together on one trip to Lima. This way, you can eliminate the cost of treatments back home. We can do this because of the integration of 3D technology that we use. I’ll email you more details today. Cheers!
