It is not unusual to have two or three surgeries done at the same time, in the same appointment. However, determining what procedures can and can’t be done safely is the surgeon’s call. It also depends on the pre-op surgical risk exams.
Deciding whether combining plastic surgery treatments is for you
We have to decide that it is a reasonable operation and the patient has appropriate motivation. The patient must know what he or she is getting into. Knowing the risks, plus the pros and cons are the important part.
On the other hand, combining plastic surgery treatments can be safe and effective, as long as it is done under the close eye of our experienced plastic surgeon. Of course, not all procedures work well together, so it is important to talk to our surgeon about the specific procedures you want. He will advise whether they can safely be performed simultaneously.
WHAT PLASTIC SURGERIES ARE TYPICALLY COMBINED?
While safety is always the top priority, our plastic surgeon is comfortable combining at least two surgeries as long as you’re in good health.
The most common plastic surgery procedures that are combined include:
- liposuction and tummy tuck, with optional abdominal etching
- rhinoplasty, eyelid surgery, and chin augmentation
- breast augmentation with a breast lift
- facelift and neck lift
- fillers
- you can see all of our treatments here
WHEN ARE SURGERIES NOT COMBINED?
If you have high blood pressure, an existing health condition or your surgeon otherwise deems multiple surgeries to be unsafe, then you’ll have to be content with having one procedure at a time. That’s OK too, and sometimes smaller steps are well worth the results.
